How We Work

Oakwrights Bath is with you every step of the way.

Our Process, from start to finish

We appreciate that undertaking any project in your home is a big decision and we want to reassure you that Peter and the whole team at Oakwrights Bath will be with you every step of the way. We aim to bring you our expertise, to assist you before, during and after the project.

We hope we can be of service to you and would welcome the opportunity to quote for any joinery needs that you have. Here is an outline of the comprehensive services we offer and a guide to our process:

Your Enquiry

Initial discussion & design consultation.

Your enquiry can be received by telephone, email or post. We’ll speak with you about the specifics of your project, including any particular requirements and drawings / sketches / photos you may have. This might be sufficient for us to produce a cost estimate.

If we need more information, we will arrange a site visit, normally conducted by Peter. He will visit your property to take measurements and have a detailed discussion regarding your requirements and give guidance on the design if necessary.

Design and Quotation

We’ll draft the design of your project.

Once the full scope of the project is known and the design has been confirmed, we will use our estimating software to provide you with a full written quotation, with a breakdown of each product cost including an outline drawing and specification. This will enable you to check we have fully understood your requirements. If you wish, we are more than happy to provide alternative specification/options should cost variations be required.

If you decide to proceed, we will raise a deposit invoice for 30% of the total value.

Technical Stage

Once you’ve ordered your product(s), it’s likely that Peter will visit the site again to take numerous accurate measurements to ensure the joinery fits correctly when it arrives. We will liaise with you about glazing, ironmongery and paint choices (if applicable).

We will produce detailed working drawings from CAD using the measurements and your final design. After you have approved these drawings, all materials will be ordered and a timescale for production will be agreed with you.

Production

This is where the magic happens and our team of highly skilled machinists, joiners and finishers will work with the raw materials to produce your bespoke item(s) of joinery.

You are welcome to visit the workshop to see your project as it progresses through the production stage.

Finishing

We offer a superior spray applied factory finish

We use a high quality, water based 3 coat paint system which avoids the range of issues that can arise when applying paint on site and reduces harmful emissions associated with many conventional solvent based preservatives. We can paint in any colour and would be happy to provide you with colour cards to help you decide which finish you would like.

Completion

Delivery, Installation and Aftercare

Once your product is complete, we will contact you to arrange a convenient time for delivery. If required, we are also able to arrange the installation. We will raise the final balance invoice for 70% of the total value.

We pride ourselves on the long-term quality of our products, but should your item require any future adjustment or remedial work, please contact us.
