Safe and healthy working conditions
We are committed to providing safe and healthy working conditions for our staff, including quality air extraction and ventilation systems. All staff are required to wear appropriate PPE relevant to the job they are undertaking, such as ear and/or respiratory protection, safety glasses and/or gloves.
We provide and maintain safe plant and equipment, with an in-house managed maintenance programme and capital expenditure on new machines as required.
Minimal use of hazardous substances
We actively minimise the use of hazardous substances within our production processes, but where necessary, we ensure they are used safely by our highly skilled team.
Expert training and supervision
We provide thorough training and supervision for all staff across various areas within the business and regularly employ an apprentice, supporting them with their college work and giving a wide range of practical hands-on experience.
Machine refresher training takes place every 3 years and we have appropriately trained First Aiders. We consult with relevant employees when undertaking risk assessments and hold regular meetings with all staff to discuss Health and Safety matters.
Supporting our Team and the Lighthouse Club
We arrange various social activities throughout the year so that the team can interact away from the workshop and we undertake annual performance reviews to ensure our staff feel valued and engaged in our business.
We make an annual donation to the Lighthouse Club, the Construction Industry Charity providing financial and emotional support to the construction community. They are dedicated to improving the health, safety and wellbeing of the construction workforce including mental health.
